Overview: Ebola put the spot light on the need for developing and following proper PPE selection, donning, doffing and disinfection procedures.
This course will help students understand key factors of PPE selection, inspection, maintenance, donning and doffing and following proper disinfection or disposal procedures. In addition students will learn how to establish a patient care corridor designed to eliminate cross contamination.
Finally select students will dress out in PPE, perform patient care or room cleaning tasks while dressed in PPE and properly doff the PPE while being monitored for cross contamination using a stimulant. Critical knowledge and skills will be validated using written and practical testing methods.
Target Audience: Hospitals, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Service, Governmental Administrative, Hazardous Materials, Healthcare, Law Enforcement, Public Health, Public Safety, Public Works, Housekeeping and Janitorial Services.
Duration: 2 hours – scheduled in 4 session/day blocks
