{"id":216,"date":"2011-07-27T10:32:30","date_gmt":"2011-07-27T10:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.abetteremergency.com\/blog\/?p=216"},"modified":"2017-10-11T14:03:46","modified_gmt":"2017-10-11T14:03:46","slug":"preparing-for-the-last-disaster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abetteremergency.com\/blog\/2011\/07\/preparing-for-the-last-disaster\/","title":{"rendered":"Preparing For The Last Disaster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How about an interesting conversation in striking a balance between preparedness (through realistic planning, training, equipping and exercising) and fiscal reality.\u00a0 Has anyone ever given thought to what an &#8220;ideally prepared&#8221; city of one million might look like with the knowledge, skills and ability of the citizens, local and response community?<\/p>\n<p>When one looks at communities devastated by natural disasters, the first components that are rebuilt are those of infrastructure, not preparedness add-on for CBRNE events.
